Bul. Allii Cong Bai 9-12g Releases the exterior, disperses Cold, unblocks the Yang and relieves toxicity.
With Dan Dou Chi, for early-stage Wind-Cold with chills, anhidrosis, headache, nasal congestion and sneezing.
With Chao Zhi Zi, Lian Qiao and Bo He, for Wind-Cold with Interior Heat.
Sm. Sojae Preparata Dan Dou Chi 9-15g Expels Wind-Cold or Wind-Heat, eliminates irritability and relieves chest stuffiness.
With Cong Bai, for fevers with anhidrosis and epigastric pain, and distension due to early stage Wind-Cold invasion.
With Bo He, for hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat.
With Chao Zhi Zi, for Insomnia and irritability due to Wind-Heat, Exterior Heat as it first enters the interior and late-stage residual Heat trapped in the chest and diaphragm with irritability, restlessness, headache, stifling sensation in the chest, vexation, insomnia, expression of rashes and nausea (if vomiting occurs, stop).
Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng 3-4.5g Opens and spreads Lung Qi, expels Phlegm and benefits the throat.
With Gan Cao, for hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat.
Charred Fr. Gardeniae Chao Zhi Zi 6-9g Clears Heat from the Lung and drains Fire.
With Dan Zhu Ye, for lingering fever.
With Dan Dou Chi, for insomnia and irritability from Deficiency due to Heat lingering in the chest.
With Lian Qiao, for Heat entering the Pericardium and Heat remaining in the Heart channel with sores in the mouth, or on the tongue, dark, scanty urine, or urinary discomfort.
Hb. Menthae Bo He 3-4.5g Disperses Wind-Heat, clears the head and eyes and benefits throat.
With Lian Qiao and Jie Geng, for sore throat with loss of voice.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao 3-4.5g Clears Heat and toxins and expels Wind-Heat.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 3-4.5g Harmonizes and moistens the Lungs, stops cough, clears Heat and relieves Fire toxicity.
Fresh Hb. Lophatheri Xian Dan Zhu Ye 1.5-3g Clears Heat, promotes urination and clears Damp-Heat.
