- Honey slows the energy. Brown sugar is all right.
- For Cold type abdominal pain, apply heated Cong Bai to the umbilicus.
- For dysuria stir fry and apply topically on the lower abdomen.
- Cong Bai and Bul. Allii Macrostemi Xie Bai both enter the Lungs and are warm and acrid. Cong Bai releases the exterior with a mild diaphoretic action that is lacking in Xie Bai. It enters the Stomach channel rather than the Large Intestine channel and is used for diarrhea due to Shao Yin Cold . Xie Bai facilitates the orifices, unblocks the Large Intestine in dysenteric disorders brought on by Cold Stagnation, is bitter warmer and better able to move Qi, which enables it to drive out Cold from the chest and scour turbid Phlegm to unbind chest Bi with pain that penetrates to the back with wheezing and shortness of breath.
- Scallion Bulb with Rootlets Lian Xu is used to unblock Qi. Fresh, it is acrid to disperse warm and unblock the Lung and Stomach channels. Cooked, it is acrid, warm and sweet.
