- Realgar was one of the main minerals used in Taoist alchemy. It was believed to possess the ability to transform copper into gold.
- It can be used alone with warm water for asthma.
- It is effective in resisting the growth of cancer cells.
- For a lower abdominal mass and dysuria, insert honey-coated pills of Xiong Huang into the vagina.
- Nasal polyps can be treated by blowing the powder into the nostrils.
- Both Xiong Huang and Sulfur Liu Huang resolve toxicity and kill parasites and are used in treating scabies, tinea and rashes. Liu Huang is better against tinea and itching lesions, its hot nature makes it unsuitable for treating Yang lesions. Xiong Huang is more effective at resolving toxins and treating abscesses and sores.
