- At the midpoint of the transverse crease of the front of the ankle, between the tendons of the extensor digitorum longus and hallucis longus muscles, approximately at the tip of the lateral malleolus.
- On the ankle, level with the prominence of the lateral malleolus, in the depression between the tendons of the extensor hallucis longus and extensor digitorum longus.
- At the midpoint of the transverse crease of the front of the ankle, between the two tendons and level with the lateral malleolus.
