POINT: SI-16 (SMALL INTESTINE-16)

NAME: TIANCHUANG

English: Heavenly Window
Also Known As: Heaven's Window

LOCATION:

  • On the posterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, level with the laryngeal prominence.
  • 3.5 cun lateral to the laryngeal prominence, at the posterior margin of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, 0.5 cun behind LI-18 Futu.

NEEDLING:

  • Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 0.8 cun.
  • Straight insertion, 0.5 to 1 cun.
  • Puncture perpendicularly 0.3 to 0.7 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.
