- For trichomonas vaginitis, use the young, fresh stems as an external wash or douche.
- For acute mastitis, decoct 30g of Xian He Cao with wine in a half-full teapot after meals.
- It is said to cure scrofula.
- For Meniere's syndrome, take 60g of this herb decocted in water, twice daily.
- One source says that this herb cures dyspepsia, abdominal distention, regurgitation, dysphagia, throat inflammation, pulmonary abscess, hemorrhoids and hematemesis.
- One source says that it is the best herb for resolving and dissipating abdominal masses with distention.
- This herb is also said to be effective for "incurable" dysphagia and regurgitation.
- As a Qi tonic use 30g plus ten red dates Hong Zao in a strong decoction as a tea throughout the day.
