- This is the fossilized resin of a species of pine tree which is now extinct.

- Both Hu Po and Poria Fu Ling calm the Spirit, facilitate urination and treat disorders of the Spirit. Hu Po enters the Blood level with a tendency to drain and is most appropriate when ascendant Yang or overabundant Fire disturbs the Heart. It transforms Stagnation and unblocks the orifices to treat painful urinary dysfunction associated with Bladder Damp-Heat or Blood Stagnation with scanty, painful and bloody urination. Fu Ling enters the Qi level with a tendency to tonify and is most appropriate and is most appropriate when the Heart lacks nourishment or pathogenic water disturbs the Heart. It augments the Qi and leaches out Dampness to treat Qi Deficiency failing to transform the fluids, leading to edema and scanty urine.
