Cx. Moutan Mu Dan Pi 9-12g Clears Heat, cools and harmonizes the Blood, invigorates the Blood and dispels Blood Stasis.
With Sheng Di Huang, for Ying and Xue Stage Heat with a high fever, scarlet tongue, thirst, a rash all over the body, epistaxis and hemoptysis.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 15g Clears Heat and cools the Blood.
With Bai Shao, for Blood Deficiency Heat.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 3-6g Clears Heat, drains Dampness, drains Fire, resolves Fire toxicity and stops bleeding.
With Sheng Di Huang, for insomnia and delirium due to unremitting Heat injuring the Ying level.
Rx. Angelicae Sinensis Dang Gui 10-12g Tonifies, invigorates and harmonizes the Blood, regulates the menses, disperses Cold and stops pain due to Blood Stasis.
With Tao Ren and Hong Hua, for amenorrhea, pain, swelling and other symptoms associated with Blood Stasis.
With Bai Shao, regulates and harmonizes Qi and Blood.
With Xiang Fu and Yan Hu Suo, for dysmenorrhea.
With Chuan Xiong, harmonizes, nourishes and invigorates the Blood and disperses Blood Stasis.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Distension and pain before or during menses
  • Burning abdominal pain which precedes or follows the menstrual flow with guarding
  • The pain extends to the sacrum
  • Pressure makes the pain worse
  • There may be constant lower abdominal pain that worsens with menstruation
  • Dark-red or purple thick Blood with clots
  • Yellow smelly vaginal discharge between periods
  • Hot sensations
  • Maybe heavy bleeding
  • Maybe dark urine
  • May be a mild fever
  • T: Red
  • C: Sticky and Yellow or Yellow and greasy
