Rx. Bupleuri Marginati Zhu Ye Suan Cao 300g Liver pain, sun lift depression, Cold and fever, Cold and Heat exchanges, Spleen Jiuxie, hanging off the disease.
Hb. Xanthii Cang Er Cao 300g Dispels Wind and clears Heat toxins.
Hb. Solani Nigri Long Kui 30g Clears Heat, resolves toxicity, invigorates the Blood and reduces swellings.
Rz. Fagopyrum Cymosum Ye Qiao Mai Gen 250g A decoction of the roots is used in the treatment of insect bites, dysmenorrhea, inflammation, lumbago, snakebite and traumatic injuries.
Rz. Paridis Chong Lou 150g Extinguishes Liver Wind, drains Heat, relieves Fire toxicity, reduces swelling and inflammation and stops pain.
Rx. Trichosanthis Tian Hua Fen 15g Drains Heat, generates Fluids, clears and drains Lung Heat, transforms Phlegm, moistens Lung Dryness, relieves toxicity, expels pus and reduces swelling.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Epistaxis, usually a small amount of Blood (initial stage)
  • Nasal obstruction (early stage)
  • Tumor in the nose
  • Tinnitus
  • Deafness
  • Masses of the neck
  • Vernet's syndrome
  • Platoplegia
  • Asymmetry of the palate
  • Disappearance of the mouth opening
  • Migraines
  • Dysphagia
  • Choking sensation while drinking
  • Hoarseness
  • Exophthalmos
  • Blindness
  • Usually asymptomatic at the early stage
  • The tumor may appear as a Cauliflower-like nodule or ulceration on the nasopharynx or as membrane erosion of abnormal color
  • If the tumor infiltrates to the submucosal layer, the surface of the membrane will be smooth and the nasopharynx will be depressed
  • Cranial nerve involvement is reflected by:
    Paralysis of the eyeball
    Facial hypothesia or hypoalgesia
    Difficulty opening the mouth
    Inclination of the tongue when it protrudes
    Aphasia
    Paralysis of the soft palate
    Disappearance of the gullet response
