NOTES

  1. This herb also expels Phlegm, stops cough and alleviates itching.
  2. The leaves are used topically for pemphigus and other toxic swellings. They reduce Heat, disperse Blood, suppress toxic effects of minerals and metals. It also expels corrupted Blood in women and treats bronchitis along with a wide variety of cancers.
  3. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of cancer cells.
  4. The fruit restores the sinews and reduces deep-rooted swellings.
  5. The seed cure furuncles.
  6. It is said to clear fever and treat Heat and swelling.
  7. The root facilitates urination, especially with Caulis Akebiae Mu Tong.
  8. It also treats traumatic injury.
  9. It is said to treat illnesses caused by Wind.
  10. It treats Yuan Qi Deficiency in men and lochioschesis in women.
