Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 15-30g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin, generates fluids and cools Heart Fire.
With Xuan Shen and Mai Men Dong, for a dry throat, irritability, a red tongue, and a fast thready pulse due to Devastated Yin with Blazing Fire.
With Mu Tang and Dan Zhu Ye, for sensations of Heat in the chest, irritability, insomnia, thirst, dark, scanty urine and mouth and tongue sores from Heat in the Heart and Small Intestine.
Rx. Ophiopogonis Mai Men Dong 12g Moistens the Lungs, nourishes Stomach Yin, generates Fluids, clears the Heart and eliminates irritability.
With Sheng Di Huang, for hematemesis or epistaxis due to Yin Deficiency with Excess Heat.
With Suan Zao Ren and Sheng Di Huang for irritability and insomnia due to Yin Deficiency.
Sm. Zizyphi Spinosae Suan Zao Ren 9-20g Nourishes Heart Yin, tonifies Liver Blood, calms the Spirit, astringes sweat and generates fluids.
Rx. Scrophulariae Xuan Shen 6-12g Clears Heat, cools the Blood and nourishes Yin.
With Sheng Di Huang, for Kidney Yin Deficiency with Fire Blazing with soreness and swelling in the throat, a dry mouth and a parched tongue.
With Sheng Di Huang and Mai Men Dong, for constipation due to Dryness and a sore, dry throat due to Deficiency Fire.
Rz. Coptidis Huang Lian 3-10g Clears Heat, drains Dampness, drains Fire, resolves Fire toxicity and clears Heart Fire.
With Sheng Di Huang, for insomnia and delirium due to unremitting Heat injuring the Ying level.
Poria Pararadicis Fu Shen 9-12g Quiets the Heart, calms the Spirit, soothes the nerves, promotes urination and leaches out Dampness.
Caulis Akebiae Mu Tong 3-8g Promotes urination and drains Heart Heat through the Small Intestine.
Medulla Junci Deng Xin Cao 3-6g Clears Heat from the Heart channel by directing Fire downward and calms the Spirit.
Herba Lophatheri Dan Zhu Ye 6-12g Clears Heat, relieves irritability, and promotes urination.
