- With the arm slightly bent at the elbow, this point can be found on the transverse crease of the elbow, just lateral to the tendon of the biceps muscle.
- With the elbow slightly flexed, locate the point on the transverse cubital crease on the radial side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle.
- On the cubital crease of the elbow, in the depression of the radial side of the biceps brachii.
Note: locate slightly lateral to the tendon rather than immediately next to it.
Note: locate and needle with the elbow slightly flexed, avoiding the cubital vein.
- Straight insertion, 0.5 to 1 cun. Sensation: local distention and soreness or an electric, numb sensation extending toward the forearm.
- Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 to 1 cun.
