- Just superior to the medial end of the popliteal crease, in the depression anterior to the tendons of the m. semitendinosus and m. semimembranosis, about 1 cun anterior to KI-10 Yingu.
- Note: It is helpful to flex the knee to locate the popliteal crease and identify the tendons, although the point may subsequently be needled with a pillow under the leg to semi-flex it. The m. semitendinosus, which lies posteriorly to the m. semimembranosis is the most prominent of the two tendons.
- When the knee is flexed, the point is at the medial end of the transverse popliteal crease, posterior to the medial epicondyle of the tibia, in the depression of the anterior border of the insertions of the m. semitendinosus and m. semimembranosis.
- With the knee flexed, this point can be found in the depression at the medial end of the transverse crease on the posterior aspect of the knee.
- With the knee flexed, this point is located in the depression on the medial end of the transverse popliteal crease between the upper border of the medial epicondyle of the femur and the tendon of the semimembranosus muscle.
- Perpendicular or slightly posterior insertion 1 to 1.5 cun.
- Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 to 0.8 cun.
- Moxibustion is applicable.
- Straight insertion 1 to 1.5 cun. Sensation: local distention and soreness
