Clears Heat, detoxifies, clears Wind-Dampness and resolve swelling

Chronic red dysentery, jaundice, swollen, toxic sores and abscesses

Pain in the bones and sinews, seizures and paralysis due to Wind-Dampness

Cools the Blood and stops bleeding

Heavy menstruation due to Heat

Swollen hemorrhoidal bleeding

Hemoptysis, hematochezia

Topically as a powder or macerated fresh herb

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindicated for those with Yang Deficiency with Cold or Deficiency Cold of Spleen and Stomach.

Dysenteric diarrhea.

This herb is said to Cool the Blood to stop bleeding. The source says it astringes to stop bleeding.
To treat uterine bleeding, use large doses (up to 30g).
This herb can be used by itself.
