- It may be used singly with sugar added or with other herbs.
- It is said to tonify Qi, transform Phlegm, enrich the Yin of the Stomach, expel Wind-Dampness, treat Cold in the genitals, quiet the fetus, harmonize the Blood and remedy frostbite and wounds from metal.
- It is an effective treatment for night sweats.
- It also works for fever, spontaneous perspiration, hepatitis and filariasis.
- Chyluria can be treated with decoction of 120g of Nuo Dao Gen, twice a day for 20 days as a treatment course.
- For spontaneous perspiration caused by Qi Deficiency, Nuo Dao Gen can be used alone.
