- This herb is similar in action to Fr. Evodiae Wu Zhu Yu, but is more important for the treatment of reflux Qi.
- Some sources say that this herb unblocks the pulse.
- Male Clove Gong Mu Xiang is more powerful.
- Mother Clove Mu Dong Xiang is less powerful in descending Qi, but is effects last longer and are often combined with Gong Ding Xiang for a more powerful; longer lasting effect. Mu Ding Xiang also enters the Blood to invigorate Blood and induce labor. it has also been used topically to treat Cold vagina.
- This herb has long been an ingredient in perfumes, incenses and herbal formulas.
- Some sources say that this herb treats parasites.
- Cx. Caryophylli Ding Xiang Pi is the bark of the same plant and is used to dispel Cold and relieve pain.
