NOTES

  1. This can be used as a stand-alone for snakebite and burns, usually as a juice pressed from the fresh herb.
  2. This is very commonly used in prescriptions to treat acute, persistent and active forms of hepatitis.
  3. This herb inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
  4. It is effective in lowering Liver enzymes.
  5. This herb also treats low-grade Yin Deficiency fevers.
  6. The juice extracted from the fresh leaves treats lesions caused by toxic insect stings or by scalding.
  7. It is reported to treat furuncles, abnormal defecation and membranous pharyngitis.
  8. The leaves, Fol. Sedi are salty, astringent and as cool as Natrii Sulfas Mang Xiao. They are effective in removing filth and malignant toxicity.
  9. A lot of fresh juice can treat restless conditions associated with septicemia and hematotoxicosis.
  10. The raw juice alone or with sugar or syrup can relieve aesthenic and sweltering fever, ease restless thirst, subside pharyngitis, laryngitis, stomatic and lingual inflammation and can cure diarrhea or diarrhea with hemafecia.
  11. Combined with Chinese ink, gargling can cure membranous pharyngitis.
  12. When pounded with a little salt and applied to the area, this herb can cure unbearable headaches.
