This herb governs infertility, edema, augments Kidney Qi, fills out the muscles and skin and brightens the eyes.
It is normally used soaked in wine, steamed and baked dry.
It fortifies the sinews and bones, reinforces the Yang Qi, tonifies Deficiency consumption, assists the lower back and knees and benefits the complexion.
Applied topically as a paste, it clears Heat, resolves toxicity and generates flesh while eliminating the putrid.
Both Chu Shi Zi and Fr. Lycii Gou Qi Zi are sweet, moistening, enrich and tonify Liver and Kidney Yin and Blood and are used for achy, weak lower back and legs, dizziness, lightheadedness and visual disturbances. Gou Qi Zi is neutral and can tonify Jing and treat coughs by moistening the Lungs. Chu Shi Zi is cold and clears Heat, especially in the Liver channel affecting the eyes. it also promotes urination.
