CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindicated for those with hard lumps characteristic of Yin natured sores.
Use with caution during pregnancy.

This herb can be used externally alone or made into a paste with vinegar for snakebite and traumatic injuries.
Some sources say that this herb stops bleeding.
This is a Jue Yin channel herb and can cool and resolve Heat from Liver/Gallbladder constraint, extinguish Wind, and descend Qi.
It can also reduce swellings, dissolve Phlegm, promote water metabolism and expel Dampness.
This herb removes and dissolves stagnation.
This herb has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
One source says that this herb cure convulsions, epilepsy with shaking of the head, mania, carbuncles, vulvitis, infantile twitch of the hands and feet, scrofula, sore throat, snakebite, ascariasis, teniasis, oxyuriasis and edema.
It is said that this herb reinforces Jing to supplement the Kidneys.
Some researchers say that this herb's ability to resolve and expel toxicity is greater than Hb. Taraxaci Pu Gong Ying, Hb. Violae Zi Hua Di Ding or Flos Lonicerae Jin Yin Hua.
Both Chong Lou and Hb. Taraxaci Pu Gong Ying resolve toxicity, reduce swelling and alleviate pain. Pu Gong Ying also promotes urination, unblocks painful urinary dysfunction and treats jaundice, while Chong Lou calms fright while cooling the Liver. It also resolves snakebite toxins and treats many types of cancers.
