POINT: UB-38 (URINARY BLADDER-38)

NAME: FUXI

English: Floating Cleft
Also Known As: Floating Xi

LOCATION:

  • On the back of the knee, 1 cun superior to UB-39 Weiyang, on the medial side of the tendon of the biceps femoris. Note: locate with the knee slightly flexed.

NEEDLING:

  • Perpendicular insertion, 1 to 1.5 cun.
  • Straight insertion 1 to 2 cun.
  • Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 to 1 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.

  • Soothes contraction

INDICATIONS:

  • Numbness of the buttock
  • Contraction of the sinews of the popliteal fossa
  • Contraction and pain of the outer thigh
  • Sudden turmoil disorder with cramps
  • Constipation
  • Small Intestine Heat
  • Knotting of the Large Intestine
  • Hot urination
  • Acute gastroenteritis
  • Cystitis
  • Paralysis along the lateral aspect of the lower extremities
  • Numbness of the gluteal and femoral regions
