POINT: ST-24 (STOMACH-24)  

NAME: HUAROUMEN

English: Slippery Flesh Gate
Also Known As: Door of Slippery Flesh
Sliding Door of Flesh
Lubrication Food Gate

LOCATION:

  • 1 cun above the navel and 2 cun lateral to REN-9 Shuifen.
  • On the abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the midline and 1 cun superior to the umbilicus, level with REN-9 Shuifen.

NEEDLING:

  • Straight insertion 1 to 2 cun.
  • Puncture perpendicularly 0.7 to 1 cun.
  • Moxibustion is applicable.
  • Perpendicular insertion 1 to 1.5 cun.
  • Caution: In thin patients, deep needling may penetrate the peritoneal cavity.
