- This is the most important herb for nourishing Jing, Qi and Blood, because of its role in nurturing new life.
- It is commonly used in formulas for general weakness, loss of Blood and Jing, and weakening of Qi.
- This herb also treats insufficient lactation, night sweats, and steaming bones.
- It is said to tonify both Yin and Yang.
- It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
- This substance is effective in treating hectic fever due to Yin Deficiency, night sweats, lumbago, sore knees, and a weak physique with seminal emission.
- Both Zi He Chi and Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum Lu Rong are strong supplements that tonify the Kidney Yang along with Jing and Blood. Zi He Che is warm but not drying and is a gradual, harmonious supplement. it is superior to Lu Rong for augmenting Qi and Blood and is used to treat Lung , Liver and Kidney Deficiency. It also promotes lactation which Lu Rong cannot do. Lu Rong more strongly tonifies the Kidney Yang and Du Channel and strengthens the sinews and bones.
- Prepared Placenta Zhi Zi He Che has a less objectionable taste and is more stable for a longer period of time.
- Wine-fried Placenta Jiu Chao Zi He Che has a less objectionable taste and is easier to powder.
- Human placenta is generally not used for many reasons. Instead placenta from pigs and cattle are substituted.
- Corda Umbilicalis Hominis Qi Dai is the umbilical cord. It treats wheezing and night sweats caused by Kidney Yang and Jing Deficiency. It is often decocted with Flos Lonicerae Jin Yin Hua and Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao in grain-based liquor.
