- It unblocks breast milk.
- It is mainly used for gynecological Blood Stasis and healing traumatic injury.
- It is said that this herb treats one-sided stiffness, swelling and hardening and pain of the tongue caused by extreme accumulation of Heat toxins in cases of erysipelas and scarlet fever. Secondary symptoms include involuntary salvation and difficulty swallowing. Use 6g with 3g of salt in decoction and take twice a day.
- It inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
- It treats Stomach and Liver cancers.
- To treat stagnation of breast milk grind one piece into a powder, melt it in water and ingest it after filtration.
- To treat thick Phlegm and Stomach cancer, stew it and take twice a day.
- If cut with a knife, a syrupy liquid comes out, but if fit back together, the halves will connect and it will move again.
- Both Tu Bie Chong and Hirudo Shui Zhi break up Blood Stasis and drive out Stagnation. Tu Bie Chong also assists in the healing of sinews and bones, promotes lactation and treats numbness of the tongue. It is more appropriate for deficient conditions with Blood Stagnation than Shui Zhi.
- Dry-fried Ground Beetle Chao Tu Bie Chong has less toxicity and objectionable odor.
- Tu Bie Chong, Tabanus Meng Chong and Hirudo Shui Zhi are all very strong substances to break up Blood stasis and can easily injure Qi if not used properly. Meng Chong is the strongest, followed by Shui Zhi and then Tu Bie Chong.
