- It is often used with Flos Carthami Hong Hua.
- This herb is usually used to assist Blood circulation.
- It is often used with Rx. et Rz. Rhei Da Huang to increase Blood activation and treat constipation.
- This herb is good for constipation in aged and debilitated patients.
- It assists in the generation of new Blood after the expulsion of the old, stagnant Blood.
- It has an effect on Wind Bi.
- It stops coughing and upward rebellious Qi, reduces hardness below the Heart, eliminates sudden, violent hemorrhage, breaks up mobile and fixed abdominal masses, unblocks vessels and stops pain.
- It drains stagnant Blood in the abdomen, expels Blood Heat, Dryness and itching and promotes the movement of congealed Blood in the skin.
- Both Tao Ren and Flos Carthami Hong Hua dispel Blood Stasis, unblock menstruation, invigorate the Blood and stop pain. Tao Ren is heavy and sinks, to descend Qi and attack Blood Stagnation in the lower body and interior, while also moistening the Intestines to treat constipation and stop coughs and wheezing. Hong Hua is light, floats upward and travels to the exterior and upper body. In overly high doses, it can raise Blood excessively to the head.
- Stripped Peach Kernel Guang Tao Ren enters the Small Intestine, treats Blood Dryness constipation and difficult stool because it moistens, cools and harmonizes the Blood to open clumps and unblock Stagnation.
- Dry-fried Peach Kernel Chao Tao Ren has a stronger ability to break up Blood Stasis and an increased moistening quality.
- De-fatted Peach Kernel Tao Ren Shuang has its moistening ability completely eliminated. It is used for Blood Stagnation in those who have loose stools due to Spleen Deficiency.
