- This herb has been used to treat uterine bleeding, acute and chronic gastroenteritis, stomachache, dyspepsia, hepatitis, corneal injury, debility after illness, neurasthenia, tinnitus, headaches, bleeding wounds, spermatorrhea, snake bites.
- The fruit Tao Jin Niang has been used to treat anemia during pregnancy, low back pain and rheumatic arthritis.
- The leaves are applied topically for skin infections, impetigo, furuncles and abscesses. Make a paste and apply it to the lesion.
- A decoction of the leaves is considered to be antiseptic and is used to wash the skin and clean wounds.
