- Hb. Visci Hu Ji Sheng is often used interchangeably with Hb. Taxilli Sang Ji Sheng. Both dispel Wind-
Dampness, tonify the Liver and Kidneys, strengthen the tendons and bones and calm the fetus. Both are used for Wind-Damp Bi, lower back and leg pain and weakness, weakness of the sinews and bones and restless fetus patterns. However, Hu Ji Sheng is stronger at dispelling Wind-Dampness and is more often used for Bi Syndrome, while Sang Ji Sheng is stronger at tonifying the Liver and Kidneys and stabilizing the Chong and Ren channels. - Hu Ji Sheng is slightly toxic with side effects including general discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diffuse right hypochondriac pain, drowsiness, eye irritation, ataxia and seizures.
- This herb is a parasite on a variety of deciduous trees.
