- Since most sources do not have an anti-cancer section, this herb is categorized in other sections. Bensky lists it as an herb for external application, OHAI lists it in the Insecticide, Bactericide, and Fungicide category, other sources list it as a Blood Invigorating herb.
- This herb irritates the skin causing redness and blisters which then burst and heal, literally wearing away the sore.
- It causes blistering (strong effect, slow onset). There is little pain with rapid healing and often no scar. If applied to an open wound, it can cause irreversible damage.
- Mixed with garlic, it can be used topically for sores, carbuncles and furuncles.
- It has an anti-tumoral effect.
- It causes cancer tissue to break and decay.
- It is reported to be effective in treating esophageal, gastric, Liver, cardiac, Lung and breast cancers.
- Use internally for Liver or gastrointestinal cancer.
- For gastric and esophageal cancers and cervical lymphosarcoma, grind into a powder and apply to ST-36 to induce a blister. Simultaneously steam one insect and an egg and take three times a day.
- One source says that it induces abortion.
- It is said to treat hernial disorders.
- It also treats facial paralysis, Bi syndrome, alopecia areata, urolithiasis and verruca warts.
- For warts, nevus and melanoma, pound together three Ban Mao, 15g polished glutinous rice and one garlic. Apply topically to the lesion.
- To treat furuncles and swelling, crush Ban Mao and apply to the lesion while it is being scratched with a needle.
- This substance, in combination with chemotherapy can control leukopenia in patients with leukemia.
- Mylabris Ban Mao attacks toxicity and wears away putrefication and is highly toxic. Lithargyrum Mi Tuo Seng is acrid, salty and neutral. It can kill parasites, reduce swelling, astringe urine, generate flesh and excels at treating tinea due to Dampness and skin eruptions due to sweating.
