Hirudo Shui Zhi 9-12g Breaks up and drives out Blood Stasis and reduces fixed masses.
With Da Huang, regulates Yin and Yang to quickly attack and break up Blood Stasis.
With Meng Chong, resolves severe Blood Stasis with mania, and abdominal masses or severe Blood accumulation following trauma.
With Tao Ren and Meng Chong, for abdominal pain and hardness with black tarry stools.
Tabanus Meng Chong 9-12g Breaks up Blood Stasis, reduces abdominal masses, unblocks the Blood vessels, heals injuries and stops pain.
With Shui Zhi and Da Huang, for amenorrhea from Blood Stasis.
Sm. Persicae Tao Ren 6-9g Breaks up Blood Stasis, invigorates Blood circulation, moistens the Intestines, unblocks the bowels and drains abscesses.
With Da Huang, for severe abdominal infection.
Wine-washed Rx. et Rz. Rhei Jiu Xi Da Huang 9g Cools Upper Jiao Fire and directs it downward to treat Large Intestine Heat toxin.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Firmness and distention in the lower abdomen which is painful and gives resistance on pressure

  • Black stools that are easy to expel
  • Delayed menstruation
  • Amenorrhea
  • Irregular menstruation
  • Coagulated blood
  • Thirst
  • Dry mouth
  • Polyuria
  • Liver spots indicating stagnant blood found on the face, lips, tongue, limbs and finger nails
